Welcome to my little Counter-Life
corner with some Counter-Strike
remakes that has Human Grunt/Marines and other monsters on them.
At first it was only CS maps but now there's some from the Golden
Eye mod and some HLDM maps.
To play these maps you should extract them to your "maps"
folder in the Counter-Life directory.
I've brefly tested so everything works with CL b5.7. So if
you find any bugs just mail me and I'll see what I can do.
There are two categories of maps, death match and cooperative.
The coop maps has some respawning grunts and your target is
mainly to finish of grunts and other monsters then find the
"antidote", a little white and yellow bottle. There's
no story behind that, it's just a way to make the map end. Hehe.
Nearly 3 months has past since I last updated this page so
here is a rather small update. I've made new version of the
target practice map. Since the last one was made mainly as a
fun thing I didn't put much effort to it, and it was also compatible
with standard Half-Life which added up screwing the CL version
and adding tons of entities that just slows things down.
So this version should be a whole lot better
I've made a couple of scripts since I think it's taking way
too much time to browse through the menus:
Buy a full set of clips:
bind "x" "+use;wait;-use;menuselect 7;wait;menuselect
2;wait;slot10"
Buy Armor or Health [depending on the machine]:
bind "x" "+use;wait;-use;menuselect 6;wait;menuselect
1;wait;slot10"
Buy a HE Grenade:
bind "x" "+use;wait;-use;menuselect 6;wait;menuselect
2;wait;slot10"
...with "x" being a button of your choice. I will
probeably add a quick weapon change script as well if I continue
playing.

news: 03.05.18] The new Cooperative and Death Match
game play. |
** Fixed stalkyard not showing up in multiplayer menu. Made
changes to cldm_ maps so that they probeably wont crash. Removed
flashbangs and replaced them with he-grenades, also tweaked
stalkyard. **
Ok, time for some changes now. Instead of starting a single
player you now have to go to Multiplayer -> LAN -> Create.
And there you choose what map you want to play. There are many
good things by playing it via multiplayer:
You don't need to save, and if you die you can pratcically just
pick up pase where you were.
No need to memorise map names, just select the map you feel
like playing.
Cooperative play is awsome and is by ease the coolest way to
play!
And yea, cheats has been removed.
You should remove all previous maps that you've downloaded
from here, except for maybe the second map pack. Many of the
"old" maps were buggy and to avoid possible conflicts
and confusions, since there are still many maps that already
excists, but now tweaked and overall enhanced. I yet haven't
had a single crash with the new maps. Please contact me if you
have any problems. So I might be able to see what caused it.
There are a couple of multiplayer bugs in CL, but I don't know
if they occur only while playing more than one player. I don't
know what causes some death match games to crash.
The new file names clc_ stands for Counter-Life Cooperative.
cldm stands for Counter-Life Death Match.
You'll do best in grabbing this file
and (unzip it first) place it in your 'cl' folder. It's the
game.cfg and it enables monsters in multiplayer. And if you
don't do that the whole thing will get kinda pointless. Hehe.
[BETA 5, this should have been fixed if you
have Beta 5.5]
PS. The previous way to end a map was to kill all enemies..
But since that caused crashes I had to solve that in another
way. All maps has the type of ending that Avalanche and Dust2002
had, where you were to find the "can", I know it's
a bit lame but I think it's the best way I can solve it as long
as I don't have the map scource codes. You can of course play
on after you found it.
First up are the Counter-Life cooperative maps (works fine
to play by your self as well).

I haven't done much with this map more than some multiplayer
tweaking.
And here are the Death Match maps. There shouldn't be any
problems with these.

I've also made a practice map for beginners, it includes some

You need to create a folder named "maps" in your
..Half-Life\cl\ directory where you place the map files.
Then you extract the map/maps you've downloaded to that folder.
And most important: Copy the WAD files (*.wad) from "cstrike"
to your "cl" directory. As the maps still use the
real Counter-Strike textures this has to be done for it to work
at all.
It's an extra 50 mb or so.
If you haven't downloaded the customizes game.cfg
yet do so! Or else you won't have any monsters unless you know
some commands [mp_allowmonsters 1 and then
map <map name> when you've started a
multiplayer server]
[BETA 5, in Beta 5.5 monsters should be enabled
by default, Haunter said, but I can't promise that it is.]
